Methodology

• Editor reviews each producer’s harvest year, variety, and origin.
• We prefer single-estate, single-variety, and single-harvest bottles when sourceable.
• We do not accept paid listings. Producers cannot pay to appear or rank.
• If we can’t verify a claim, we don’t print it.

Each polyphenol value is labeled with its source so you can judge it yourself:

• Lab certifiedIndependent third-party lab report from the producer or retailer for that harvest.
• Producer declaredStated by the producer; not independently verified.
• EstimatedApproximated from variety, region, and harvest norms; never invented for a specific brand.

We never invent or extrapolate a numeric polyphenol claim onto a real-world brand. If a number isn’t available, we say so.

After the 2-minute taste quiz, every oil gets a 0–100 score against your profile. The score weighs:

• Intensity preference (delicate / medium / robust)
• Flavor preferences (fruity, peppery, grassy, buttery, herbal…)
• How you cook (raw finishing, roasting, baking, salads)
• Budget band (€)
• Health priority (high-polyphenol, low-acidity, organic)
• Implicit signal from any oils you’ve rated in your tasting log

We show why an oil matched, not just a number. Everything is recomputed on the fly — change your quiz, and your feed updates.

Prices are pulled or last-verified by our editorial team and timestamped. If a price hasn’t been re-verified in 30+ days we mark it as potentially stale.

• We don’t fabricate lab data, awards, or affiliate-coded URLs.
• We don’t scrape producer or merchant images we don’t have rights to. Missing imagery is shown as a hand-drawn bottle placeholder.
• We don’t require signup before showing you product value.
